Today’s review is on one of the new Catrice products that just came out and it’s honestly the most exciting one! As most of you know, Essence and Catrice always update their line twice a year with a bunch of new products. This time I was more excited about the new Essence products than the Catrice ones but this beauty got me feeling some sort of way!! It’s their new mineral highlight, which I immediately knew I had to grab. My obsession with highlighters is as strong as ever and finding amazing ones at the drugstore can be tricky. So if you’re as curious as I was about this Catrice mineral highlight, keep on reading!
As always, we’re starting off with the packaging. The High Glow Mineral Highlight Powder comes in the typical see-through Catrice packaging. Since it is a baked powder, the powder and lid have a slight rounded shape to them. The pan is quite large and is surrounded by a silver circle.
The shade is called ‘010 Light Infusion’, which is also the only shade available in their new mineral highlight. I’m guessing (and hoping) they’ll come out with some more shades in the future!
Since this highlighting powder is baked, you can see this beautiful ‘marble’ texture which I really love. It reminds me a lot of the Mac Mineralize Skinfinishes in a way.
More on the highlight:
A baked Highlighting Powder with minerals and ultra-fine, light-reflecting pigments for a radiant look. The delicate texture offers variable coverage, which can be intensified with repeated application. Can be applied as a subtle shimmer on the entire face for a fresh complexion or to accentuate the cheeks, temples and neckline. Glow look!
As you can clearly tell, this highlight is super pigmented! However, I did immediately notice that the texture was a bit dry and also powdery. To be honest, I was expecting this since it’s a baked highlight and I’m really glad it has such an amazing pigment.
Light Infusion is a cool-toned golden pearl highlight with golden shimmer. I know it doesn’t look that golden in the swatch but it is in real life. The shimmer is super finely mild, there are no big annoying chunks of glitter in this highlight, thank god! I think that this is one of those highlight shades that would look amazing on so many different skin-tones, from fair to dark.
Since the texture is powdery, I would suggest tapping your brush to get rid of any access powder before applying it onto your cheekbones. When I first applied this highlight, I was literally shocked of how intense it looked! I did go in with a hard hand and wasn’t careful at all. That’s why I would definitely agree that this highlight has variable coverage. You could apply it very subtle or go for that intense glowing cheek.
If you’re debating on whether or not you should purchase this highlight, I would say go for it! It’s the perfect highlighting powder for beginners and even those of you who really enjoy the highlighting trend already. It’s perfect for everyday wear and can be build up to look more intense. The glow and dewiness that it adds to the cheeks is beautiful and besides the texture being a bit dry and powdery, I don’t have any other remarks.
The new Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder is now available at your local Kruidvat and online for €4,99 (8 g), which is so affordable!
