Best Of Beauty 2014!

2015 is finally upon us! A new year, new resolutions that I probably won’t stick to and a lot of new makeup to try! I just can’t get over how fast this year flew by, it’s just ridiculous to think that it’s already 2015. But before we start this new year, I wanted to look back on 2014 and share with you guys the products I have loved and used the most these past 365 days. I started off by looking through my makeup drawers and pulling out all sorts of items. But it was getting a little chaotic, and I don’t like that at all. That’s why I decided to divide my favorites into different categories. So if you’re curious and you want to know what I loved in 2014, keep on reading!

Makeup

Best primer
The Porefessional by Benefit: This will come as no surprise, since it has been my holy grail primer for more then a year now. I just love this stuff!

Best foundation
L’Oréal true match: I have used a lot of different foundations this year, but this is the one I always went back to. It looks so gorgeous and flawless on the skin and it’s super blendeable, I love it!

Best concealer
MAC pro longwear concealer: This is the best full coverage concealer ever. I do have to set it with a bit powder, otherwise it might crease a little. But aside from that, this one of the best concealers I have tried so far.

Best powder
MAC mineralize skinfinish natural: I have used and loved this powder for so long now, it’s probably in my top 3 best makeup products ever. I use this to set my makeup, all over my face. This powder never looks cakey, and adds a little bit coverage while keeping my face shine-free.

Best bronzer
Anastasia ‘Java’ and ‘Fawn’ powder (from the Contour Kit): This contour kit was probably the makeup product that took over the makeup industry this year. Everyone wanted to get their hands on it, and I was lucky enough to get one. I use the Banana powder to set my concealer, and use Java and Fawn to contour and bronze up my face a bit. These powders are just phenomenal!

Best blush
Cabana Boy by theBalm: This shimmering plum blush is one of my most-worn blushes this year. I love the color and radiance it adds to my cheekbones.

Best highlighter
Becca shimmering skin perfecto in ‘Opal’: Hands down my favorite highlight ever. You probably saw this one in previous favorite posts, I just can’t get enough of it.

Best brow product
Anastasia brow powder duo in ‘Medium Brown’: I find that filling my brows with powder is the easiest, and this one by Anastasia is probably the only one I’ve used this year. It stays on the lids, and the color matches my brows almost perfectly.

Best eye primer
Urban Decay Primer Potion: I have been trying to use this eyeshadow primer up this year, but it just lasts and lasts. It prevents my eyeshadow from creasing and provides a nice and even canvas for any eye-look.

Best single eyeshadow
Burberry sheer eye shadow in ‘Gold Trench’: For those of you who are willing to splurge on an eyeshadow, definitely consider the Burberry ones. They’re so soft and bledeable, their pigmentation is awesome and the colors are beautiful. Gold Trench is one of my favorite transition shades for in the crease.

Best eyeshadow palette
Covergirl eye enhancers in ‘Shimmering Sands’: This beautiful palette is my favorite trio eyeshadow palette from the drugstore. The colors are gorgeous and the pigmentation is actually really nice.

Best eyeliner
Maybelline Eyestudio gel eyeliner in ‘Black’: I used to hate using gel eyeliner, but I realized that it’s actually the easiest way to apply my liner. This one my Maybelline is very black and stays on my lids the entire day.

Best mascara
Jordana Best Lash Extreme volumizing mascara: Unfortunately  this mascara is hard to get your hands on here in Belgium, but it’s one of my favorites. It lengthens, adds volume and it doesn’t clump, love it!! And it’s like ridiculously inexpensive as well.

Best lip balm
Blistex Happy Lips in ‘Mango’: This lip balm is the best smelling one I have ever tried. Not only that, it conditions my lips like no other, and it’s really cheap!

Best lip scrub
E.l.f. lip exfoliator: Also a product that made its appearance in a couple of monthly favorites posts. This scrub in lipstick form is just absolutely perfect.

Best lip gloss
NYX butter gloss is ‘Tiramisu’: I’m not really a lipgloss fan, but whenever I wore a lipgloss, Tiramisu by NYX was the one I always grabbed. It’s a nudish pink and it smells delicious!

Best lip pencil
Mac lip penil in ‘Whirl’: This ‘Kylie Jenner’ lip color was the one I grabbed for the most this year. I did get it more towards the end, but I have loved it ever since I got it. It’s the perfect dark pink/mauve shade.

Best nude lipstick
Lime Crime lipstick in ‘Coquette’: I love the formula of this lipstick, it literally stays on for hours! Coquette is a gorgeous pinky nude.

Best bold lipstick
Milani lipstick in ‘Sangria’: This Fall, I have been wearing Sangria by Milani a lot, which is a dark vampy plum shade.

Best nail polish
Urban Jungle by Essie: This shade was part of their Spring collection if I’m not mistaken and it’s my favorite nail polish I bought this year. It’s been on my nails for months, I just love the greyish white color so much.

Skincare

Best skincare product
La Roche-Posay Serozinc: This year, my skin has been breaking out, I don’t exactly know why, but it just did. I was hopeless to find a solution, that I haven’t exactly found yet. But I discover this soothing and calming spray by La Roche-Posay and it has really helped my skin out. I’m not saying that I’m completely rid of my break-outs, but with this spray, I did notice a big difference.

Best face oil/serum
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery concentrate: I purchased this night serum about 6 months ago, after hearing so many raves about it. And I do have to say this stuff is amazing. Whenever I put this on at night, my skin looks and feels a lot better the next day. I do have oily to combination skin, so I was a bit afraid to apply an oil on my face, but even for my skin-type, this works.

Best facemask
GlamGlow Youthmud tinglexfoliate treatment: This facemask is actually my mom’s but I have used it so much this year. This is honestly the most expensive mask I have ever put on my face, but also the best one. This really gets rid of all the dirt on your face.

Best eye cream
Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream: This is the most hydrating and soothing eye cream I have ever tried. I’m almost running out of it which sucks since it is very pricey, but definitely worth it!

Best body product
Victoria’s Secret Endles Love fragrance mist: I have talked about this body mist a couple of times already in my monthly favorites posts, which just shows you how much I love this scent!

Best hair product
Not Your Mother’s Knotty To Nice conditioning detangler: I have been using this product for almost a year now and I can’t live without it anymore. I’m almost running out of it and I can’t seem to find this product anywhere. I bought this whilst on vacation in Florida, so I’ll probably have to go back soon haha! My hairs gets full of knot whenever I wash it, and spraying this on my hair makes it so much more easier to comb through my blonde hair wigs.

I hope you enjoyed this post and that it was somewhat helpful! Let me know what some of your favorite items were for 2014!
