Catrice Check & Tweed Limited Edition Collection

Essence & Catrice have been on point with their limited edition collections recently, I haven’t missed any of them so far this season! This time, Catrice went for a collection that’s inspired by British fashion. Judging from the ads, they were very much inspired by Burberry if you ask me. I loved the design of this collection, and all the products in it, but had to make a selection and went for 4 items. Well, actually 2, one lipstick and one eyeshadow palette are actually my mom’s 🙂

There are 3 lip colors in this collection called Velvet Lip Colours. I got 2 of them, the more darker lip colors that are more appropriate for Fall. They come in small tubes and are twistable at the bottom. I love the way that they’re shaped, their small size makes it easy to apply these and they’re really cute and compact.

Mind The Red! (Mind The Gap, get it??) is an orange/red.

Britt Chick is a dark mauve/nude shade.

The texture of these velvet lip colors is incredible. They apply so smooth and effortlessly and they feel like butter on the lips. At first, they have a shiny finish but that goes away after about half an hour of wear. After that, you’re left with a pretty semi-matte/velvety lip color. They wore well on my lips for about 4-5 hours and after that they left a beautiful stain on my lips. These velvet lip colors do have a subtle scent, but nothing really noticeable.

Catrice Velvet Lip Colours €3,99 (1g).

In this collection, you can find 2 beautiful eyeshadow palettes. They’re baked shadows and they come in the prettiest packaging! The lid closes magnetically and the shadows are round and ‘bubbly’. I’m super happy with the color combinations they went for and I think both of these palettes would look very lovely on almost anyone.

London’s Eye has a light pink, a darker brown, a mossy green and a white shade. The pigmentation of all them was pretty good and I was really impressed with their quality. I haven’t used this one on my eyes yet, so I can’t really tell how this one wears throughout the day.

Town Of Crown has 2 neutral creamy shades, a darker brown and a dark blue. The blue was a bit out of my comfort zone, but I managed to incorporate it into a look, without looking like I had just gotten a huge beating. The quality was nice and the swatches were pretty good. It didn’t apply as pigmented as I would have liked, but then again, I could use them wet to intensify the look, which I didn’t. The only remark I would make about this one is that the first and last shades, the creamy ones, look very much the same, almost similar.

Catrice Quattro Baked Eyeshadow Palette €4,59 (4 x 1g).
Eyes: Town Of Crown
I like both the eyeshadow palettes and velvet lip colors, but if you would ask me my favorite thing out of this whole collection, it’s definitely the velvet lip color in ‘Mind The Red!’. I’m really happy with the quality of every single item I got from this collection, and I’m in love with the packaging, especially of the eyeshadow palettes. Check & Tweed limited edition collection by Catrice is now available at Kruidvat for a limited time only.
