Essence Oktoberfest Trend Edition

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I went to Germany on a little trip with my mom. I had a great time and of course, did a little bit of shopping here and there. I found lots of products by Essence and Catrice that aren’t available at our local drugstores, so I was super happy to finally be able to get my hands on some of those items. I wanted to start off with this Trend Edition by Essence, inspired by the Oktoberfest.

The first thing that caught my eye were these cute boxed blushes. There were 2 of these blushes in the collection, a pink and a mauve. The packaging is a bit bulky but oh so cute! It comes in a little box with a really fun design and the blush itself has a little pink reindeer on it. To be honest, it was the packaging that really made me buy it. It’s definitely a collectors item if you ask me!

The blush is called Pretty Pink Dirndl and it’s a pale bubblegum pink. It has a cool undertone and lots of shimmer. There actually chunks of glitter in this and that’s something I don’t really appreciate in a blush. I prefer a soft shimmer over big and noticeable chunks of glitter. Once you swirl the pink reindeer and light pink powder together, you get a cool-toned pink blush. The blush is a bit powdery, but it applied quite nicely.

My skin has a warm undertone, so this blush doesn’t really look that flattering on me. But for those of you with fair/cool-toned complexions, this will look very lovely!

This blush does have a subtle scent. It smells like very sweet tic-tac’s but it’s not noticeable once applied to the face. Again, the color is just not my thing, but for all you fair girls out there, this will look so lovely on you!

I saw this nail polish and their stand and I couldn’t resist it. It’s called Holz Oder Michel? and it’s the prettiest khaki green shade, perfect for fall! I didn’t own anything like this before (I really didn’t!!) and I’m obsessed with it. It did need about 2-3 coats to look opaque but it applied super fast without too much streaks.

Despite not being totally in love with the blush, I do think this collection looks very lovely and I’m super happy with the nail polish. I like the effort Essence has done packaging-wise, but I do wish we could get our hands on it here in our region! The blush costs €3,45 (9g) and the nail polish €1,55 (8ml).
