New Catrice The Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette | Review

I adore Catrice as a brand and I find most of their products to be amazing. However, if there’s one makeup item I feel they have been lacking in, it’s definitely their eyeshadow palettes. That’s why I was really excited when I saw that Catrice recently discontinued their existing eyeshadow palette range and replaced them with gorgeous new ‘collection’ eyeshadow palettes. I picked up the The Nude Blossom one, which comes with a bunch of rosy eyeshadow shades. So if you’re curious to know if I like this palette better than their previous ones, keep on reading!

The packaging is very similar to their old palettes, only these ones are slightly bigger since they added two shades. The shadows are housed in a clear transparant plastic compact that has gorgeous rose golden details and a sticker on the back with some additional info. Even though the palette is made out of a plastic material, it feels nice and sturdy and closes without any problem. There’s no brush or mirror included in this palette, which I personally don’t mind because otherwise it just takes up unnecessary space.

The new ‘collection’ eyeshadow palettes are available in four different variaties:

❤ The Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette
❤ The Modern Matte Collection Eyeshadow Palette
❤ The Precious Copper Collection Eyeshadow Palette
❤ The Essential Nude Collection Eyeshadow Palette

All of the new palettes come with gorgeous shades that are quite similar to the older palettes. The only difference is that these are supposed to be reformulated and what’s also great is that Catrice added two shadows to each of the new palettes. They added a light and sculpt shadow which makes these palettes even more versatile and so now they contain nine shadows instead of seven.

The Nude Blossom palette contains a bunch of soft rosy shades, a few highlighting shades and two darker shadows.

Brand’s description:

Matching Shades. The on-going contouring trend has reached the eyes! Nine perfectly aligned, highly pigmented, longlasting powder eyeshadows. Includes a matt contouring shade and a highlighting shade to ensure perfect contours for the eyes. Thanks to the combination of different colours, the palette offers various options for creating breathtaking eye make-up styles.

The pigmentation of these shadows did let me down quite a bit. I was hoping this palette was going to be different, but again, the shadows didn’t swatch that well. Granted, the color pay-off isn’t SUPER bad, I just don’t think the pigment is anything special.

The formula of these shadows is relatively powdery and a little bit on the dryer side. However, I didn’t have any problem applying and blending these on my eyes. I experienced just the tiniest bit of fall-out but nothing extreme. When using an eyeshadow primer, the shadows last pretty well throughout the day without creasing but they might loose some intensity after about 7 hours of wear.

Overall I really adore the color scheme they went for with this palette. I love the beautiful dusty pink and neutral shades they selected. What I didn’t really like, however, is that the ‘sculpt’ shade, that is supposed to be matte, still had that slight sheen to it. If there’s no deeper matte shade in this palette, how am I supposed to create an entire eye-look just using this palette?

Although the palette comes with a ‘light’ and ‘sculpt’ shadow, I do miss some depth and versatility in this palette. For example the first three shades look almost identical, even in the pan. But once you blend these shadows onto your eyes, the shades look quite similar and there’s almost no difference noticeable. The same goes for the other shadows, I really wish there were more deeper tones.

For some odd reason, this palette actually has a second name: “010 Blossom ‘n Roses” although I don’t really understand why. The palette already has a name that is unique to their collection so why would they give it a second name? Or maybe I’m just overthinking it!
I’m wearing the Catrice The Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette on my eyes.

To be honest, I’ve read quite a few positive reviews on this eyeshadow palette, but I’m not the biggest fan. The eyeshadows are quite powdery and I definitely miss a few matte shadows to create an entire look using this palette on its own. The pigmentation is okay and the shades are really lovely, it’s just by far not my favorite eyeshadow palette ever. Also, keep in mind that most of the intensity of these shadows fades away when you apply them to your eyes.

The new Catrice The Nude Blossom Collection Eyeshadow Palette is now available at your local Catrice retailer for €4,99 (10 g) or if you live in Belgium or The Netherlands you can order yours online on the official Kruidvat webshop.

Hmm ik vind het palette qua kleur samenstelling niet perse heel erg sterk. Ik vind de look die je gemaakt hebt wel erg mooi!
