Hello Kitty x Colourpop Mama’s Apple Pie Super Shock Shadow Collection, Ultra Satin Lip (Tiny Chum) & Matte X Lippe Stix (Date Mate) | Review

Ever since I was a little kid, I have been obsessed with Hello Kitty and I still am to this day. This is something my mom passed onto me, since my first Hello Kitty collection consisted mostly of her old Hello Kitty toys. So when I heard the news that one of my favorite makeup brands, Colourpop, was releasing an entire line of Hello Kitty makeup, I lost my mind. This collection / collab is literally a dream come true for me.

In this Hello Kitty collection there are two kits, a face kit and an eyeshadow kit and also a bunch of single shadows, blushes, highlighters and lippies. I decided to purchase the eyeshadow kit and two single lip products, which I’m going to review in today’s post!

Mama’s Apple Pie Super Shock Shadow Collection $18 (4 x 2.1 g)

First, I picked up the eyeshadow kit which comes with four limited edition eyeshadows.

The shades include:

❤ Rainbow
❤ Friendship File
❤ Small Gift
❤ School Bus

Although I adore every single shade this kit comes with, I do think most of these shadows are dupable and you can find similar shades in Colourpop’s permanent collection. The only unique shades are School Bus & Friendship File.

The packaging of these Super Shock Shadows is exactly the same as their regular ones, only that it says ‘Colourpop x Hello Kitty’ with a little Hello Kitty on the lid. The quad did come in a really pretty box with blue, silver and red details that I will definitely be saving somewhere in my collection!

As you can see, the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows are super intense and pigmented. They have a cream to powder texture and are best applied with your fingers or a really dense brush.

Rainbow is a white with highlights of silver and pink and a glitter sheer finish.

This shade is perfect to apply in the inner-corners as a pop of highlight or all over the lids. It’s basically a super sheer but intense shimmer at the same time.

Friendship File is a warm peachy beige dusted with silver and pink glitter and a metallic finish.

I featured Friendship File in my monthly favorites since it’s the most beautiful lid shade and I’m obsessed with it! I haven’t been able to put it down ever since I got it!

Small Gift is a mid-toned peachy pink with a pearlized finish.

This shade works amazingly on the eyelids or even blended into the crease.

School Bus is a deep navy blue with a pearlized finish.

Most of the time these types of shades are matte, but I really like how this one has a pearlized finish. It’s definitely the most unique shade in this collection.

The Super Shock Shadows have amazing lasting power. They last all day long on my eyelids without creasing or smudging.
I’m wearing ‘Small Gift’ in my crease, ‘Friendship File’ on my eyelids & ‘Rainbow’ as an inner corner highlight

Tiny Chum Ultra Satin Lip $6 (3.2 g)

Next we have the Ultra Satin Lip in ‘Tiny Chum’, which I think is definitely the most popular item in this collection.

As all of the products in this collection do, this USL comes in a blue box instead of a white one with silver, dark blue and red bows on it. The packaging actual lip product has little bows on the cap and on the tube it says ‘Colourpop x Hello Kitty’.

Tiny Chum is a cool-toned muted rosy nude pink with a satin finish. This shade is definitely one I would wear all year round since it’s very neutral and goes with a lot of makeup looks.

Tiny Chum is super pigmented and intense, you only need one swipe for it to look even and opaque on your lips.

As you all know by now, I’m a huge fan of the USL formula. It has a very creamy and comfortable consistency and it doesn’t dry down completely matte. Tiny Chum has a soft satin finish and it did accentuate my fine lines just a little bit, since it’s a lighter shade.

The lasting power was average, after about 6 hours Tiny Chum started to fade and I had to touch-up the inner rim.

The wand is the same one as the UML, which is the one I prefer. It’s less fluffy than their other USL wands.

I’m wearing the Ultra Satin Lip in ‘Tiny Chum’

Date Mate Matte X Lippie Stix $5 (1 g)

There are a few Lippie Stix in this collection, but only one with the Matte X formula, which is my favorite formula in the Lippie Stix. It’s called Date Mate and it’s definitely more of a Spring / Summer shade, although I would wear this one all year round.

Again, the packaging looks super adorable and it comes in the same blue box as the other products. The lipstick comes in the typical white Lippie Stix packaging, but with silver bows on the cap!

Date Mate is a deeper cool-toned fuchsia pink with subtle blue undertones and a very matte finish.

The color pay-off and pigmentation is amazing, it covers your entire lips with just a few swipes and it doesn’t look patchy.

The formula is a bit dry and it pulled at my lips just a little when I was applying this. However, once it’s on the lips it doesn’t feel very drying or uncomfortable whatsoever and it has a beautiful flat matte finish.

Date Mate had amazing lasting power, it stayed in place for about 6 hours which is amazing for a lipstick!

Overall, I think this collection is stunning! The quality of the eyeshadows and lip products, the fact that they’re all super affordable and cruelty free,… just makes me absolutely obsessed. Although I love every single product I picked up, the stars of the show are definitely the super shock shadow in ‘Friendship File’ and the USL in ‘Tiny Chum’. This collection is limited edition and I think it will be available online until February 2017, so don’t sit on it for too long! If you want to see live swatches and demos, I dedicated an entire video to this collection, so definitely check that out as well if you’re interested!
