Catrice Lash Dresser Comb Mascara | Review

Ahh, mascaras, something I don’t review that often here on my blog, but definitely one of those staple items. I rarely am impressed with mascaras since I have naturally long eyelashes and with most mascaras I don’t really see a huge difference. I like mascaras that aren’t too clumpy, add a ton of volume and length and don’t smudge, which I know is a lot to ask for! So when Catrice released a new mascara for Fall & Winter 2016 that claimed to have a comb wand, I was super intrigued and had to try it out!

The Lash Dresser Comb Mascara comes in a black packaging that has rose gold details and a mauve cap. I really like the overall design they did on this packaging, it looks fun and luxurious at the same time. The tube is also very large and thin, definitely a lot slimmer than your average mascara.

This mascara only comes in one shade, black, which is what I use on the daily anyway. It’s definitely more of a deeper, true black.

The applicator of this mascara is rather unique. It’s a silicone wand that only has short bristles on one side of the brush. These short bristles really grab your lashes perfectly, but you do have to get very close to your lash base and definitely be careful not to poke your eyeballs (yes, it happened to me multiple times!). The brush contains a lot of product, which can look clumpy at first. But then once you go over your lashes without any additional product, it really divides the product.

This mascara doesn’t add a ton of volume and length, but separates and defines your lashes perfectly. I also wouldn’t recommend applying more than 2-3 coats because then it will tend to clump a little.

The formula is quite runny and liquid, but it holds the curl of lashes throughout the day and it doesn’t smudge whatsoever.

Without any mascara / With the Catrice Lash Dresser Comb mascara

This mascara has become one of my favorites! I adore how it separates my lashes so well, but that being said, I do always combine it with another mascara that is more volumizing and lengthening beforehand. So in conjunction with another volumizing mascara, this mascara is the perfect topper to make sure your lashes are defined and separated. The mascara I love to use combined with this one is the Essence The False Lashes mascara, a match made in heaven!

The Catrice Lash Dresser Comb Mascara is now available at your local Catrice stand and online for €4,59 (7 ml). If you’re on the look-out for a new drugstore mascara that will define and separate your lashes like no other, I would totally recommend picking this one up!
