Maybelline Brow Satin

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you know I’m all about the brows. My brow-game needs to be on point, otherwise my makeup look just isn’t complete. And although I’m not the best at doing brows, I’m learning and I’m trying to find the best eyebrow products out there. When I came across this new brow product by Maybelline, I was really intrigued. It’s a brow pencil and powder in one, which I thought was so weird and of course, I have to try out weird makeup products that manage to intrigue me.

The packaging is very simple and basic, with the pencil on one side and the powder on the other side. One thing I adore about this packaging is that you can easily see the color just by looking at the cap. The Brow Satin comes in 4 different shades and I’m in the shade Medium Brown.

The pencil is very slim (2mm), which makes it easy to define and sculpt out the brows. The pencil is not too soft and not too dry either. It’s the perfect consistency for a brow pencil.

The powder has a small pointed sponge applicator which also makes it very easy to apply the powder. Again, the powder is not too pigmented for the brows, it adds the perfect amount of ‘coverage’.

The best way to use this product is to first apply the pencil side, going upwards and using small strokes. You can also define the bottom and upper part of your brows for a more sculpted brow. After that, you can go over the pencil with the powder, going horizontally. I personally prefer to comb through my brows afterwards, just to make it look a bit more natural, and finish off with a (clear) brow gel. I was so impressed with the long-wearingness of this duo. It didn’t move or fade throughout the entire day, which is just perfect.

I am in love with the concept of this product. You basically get 2 in 1 with the Brow Satin: a brow powder and a brow pencil. The only thing I wish was that the color range had a shade that would match my brows just a little bit better. I feel like it’s a tad too dark and warm for my brows, but the lighter shade is too light. But aside from that, this is an amazing product for the brows and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves doing their brows. It fills them in without having to put too much effort into it and once your brows are done, this stays in place the entire day. The Maybelline Brow Satin is available at Maybelline counters for €11,99, which I think is such a fair price for an amazing drugstore brow product.
