The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Two trends in makeup world combined in one: tea tree and BB cream. Almost every single makeup brand out there has come out with their own version of a BB cream, as did The Body Shop. They came out with a whole Tea Tree skincare line, made for blemished and oily skin. In that assortment, I stumbled upon this BB cream and decided to give it a try, since I have oily to combination skin and it sounded very promising.

I like how compact and small this BB cream is. The product comes out by squeezing the tube and there’s 40ml of product in this tube which is quite a lot.

Tea Tree is made out of an Australian plant, which the original inhabitants inhaled to get rid of coughs and colds. They also used to soak the leaves to make an infusion which helped against skin ailments. A lot of brands, such as Lush and The Body Shop, use this ingredient for products against blemished and oily skin.

The texture of this BB cream is very liquid and creamy. It’s easy to blend into the skin and once you applied this, it dries into a sort of matte finish, which makes it ideal for oily skin. It did a fairly good job at keeping my skin shine-free throughout the day. The coverage is light, but it does cover up most of my small imperfections and discolorations. I had to get used to the smell but that faded away after a minute or 10.

Pro’s:

  • The coverage is light (which is common for a BB cream), but it is buildable.
  • The packaging, it’s compact and there’s 40ml of product in it, which is quite a lot.
  • The price, €8 is a very reasonable price if you ask me.
  • Contains fairtrade tea tree oil.
  • It’s suitable for blemished skin.
  • How light it feels on my skin. Almost as if I’m wearing nothing at all.
Cons:
  • There’s a lot of product that comes out at once, so be careful when squeezing the tube.
  • The shade selection. With only 3 shades to choose from, I can imagine that some people will find it difficult finding the right match.
  • The scent. I personally don’t mind that, but for some that can be a con.
  • The coverage. It’s very light, which is normal for a BB cream, but you can find BB creams that provide a bit more coverage than this one.

Wearing only the Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Despite the lighter coverage, this is one of the best BB creams I’ve tried in a while. I won’t grab this one for a full face of makeup, but I’ll apply this whenever I’m having a bad skin day and I have to run some errands or go out the door for some reason. I love how natural this looks on the skin, almost as if you’re wearing nothing at all. The Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream is available at The Body Shop for €8 and for that you get 40ml of product.

Goede review! Ik heb hem zelf ook en ik ben het 100% met je eens! Ik gebruik hem ook op dagen dat ik gewoon rustig aan kan doen of als ik snel even de deur uit moet! ♥
