Kathleen Lights x Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips (November, Alyssa & Point Zero)

KathleenLights did another collab with Colourpop, this time they released three Ultra Satin Lips and a Creme Gel Liner. I’ve been following KathleenLights on Youtube for quite some time now and I love her channel. She’s so much fun to watch and her videos are great. She has done multiple collabs with Colourpop in the past, which I’ve tried a few items from but was never really blown away by. But when she announced they were going to release USL, I just knew this collection was one I couldn’t miss. I was able to get my hands on all three of her new Ultra Satin Lips, which are one of my favorite lip formulas Colourpop does. I decided to pass up on the Creme Gel Liner, which I’m regretting big time so maybe next time I’ll purchase the liner as well. But for now, here’s what I think about the new USL by KathleenLights!

Packaging: These Ultra Satin Lips come in the same cardboard boxes as the regular ones, only on these boxes it says ‘KathleenLights x Colourpop’. The USL come in a clear bottle with a metallic cap and details, just like the UML. I always tend to throw away the boxes, but then I won’t be able to see that these were part of a collab, which I think is such a pity, I wish they would’ve done something different with the packaging.

If you’re unfamiliar with Colourpop’s Ultra Satin Lips (which I reviewed here), they’re just like liquid lipsticks, except for the fact that they have a satin finish instead of a matte one and that they’re not completely transfer proof.

In this newest KathleenLights collection you can find three shades in the USL. I was so excited to see that she picked two very wearable pink shades and a brown. I own so many lip shades by now, that it’s hard to find shades I don’t own already. And even though I have ‘similar’ shades to these, I don’t actually own anything that looks exactly like them. Also, I think it’s amazing how all three of these suit a variety of skin-tones. Kathleen uploaded a video where she swatched all of these on her lips, as well as her friend’s lips who has a darker skin-tone and I think these looked amazing on both of them!

November is a medium warm peachy pink. It almost looks like a muted neon, without looking too intense. It’s the perfect everyday shade whenever you’re in the mood for something a little more bold, but still not over the top. I think this shade would look absolutely amazing on darker skin-tones, although it’s a universal shade. For me, this is still very wearable.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m not the biggest fan of these applicators. The applicator is fluffier than the other USL, which makes it harder to get a precise line. Nothing too drastic, but I thought I should mention it.

Alyssa is a neutral dusty pink. This is definitely the most wearable shade out of all of these and I think it’s the perfect everyday shade that would go with almost any eye look. I think this might be my favorite!

Point Zero is a cool toned grey brown. It photographed less cool toned than it actually is. On me, this is a very dark grayish brown that reminds me an awful lot of ABH’s Sepia. I have a feeling this shade looks a lot darker on me than it looks on other people, I wish it looked a little bit lighter on me but nonetheless it’s a stunning shade. Point Zero is definitely the boldest one out of the three!

As you can see, these have a satin finish and aren’t completely matte. The formula of the USL is super comfortable on the lips and does dry down a little after application. Although they don’t completely dry down to a matte finish, these have a lasting power of about 6 hours, which is really long. These USL have amazing color pay-off and the pigmentation is definitely on point.
I think Alyssa is my favorite shade out of the three and the one I would grab the most. But nonetheless I’m completely in love with the other two shades as well!
Kathleen did an amazing job creating these three shades and I’m so happy she decided to release three Ultra Satin Lips, since I think the formula of USL is just the best!
The KathleenLights x Colourpop collaboration is available here and each Ultra Satin Lip retails for $6 (3.2 g). I payed €25 shipping and had to pay customs when it arrived, so keep that in mind if you’re not from the US and you want order something from Colourpop. I would recommend placing a group order, that way you can split the shipping. My package took about 2 weeks to get here because it was stuck at customs in Belgium for over 10 days. Again, something to keep in mind!
