Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

I am a huge fan of Tarte cosmetics and I have loved every single product I have tried from them. Their packaging always slays and their products are usually such high-quality! They’re also a cruelty-free vegan brand, which is something I’m trying to keep in mind lately. I just think Tarte makes vegan products look fun instead of boring and I love them for that. The only down-side is that they’re not the easiest to purchase here in Europe, but there are definitely ways to buy them without paying an arm and a leg, which I will tell you about in this post as well. I was always intrigued by their original Tartelette palette which looks absolutely stunning but for some reason I never got around to actually trying it. But when I saw that they were coming out with a baby sister, the Tartelette In Bloom palette, I was sold. And after doing some research, I found the palette online and purchased it right away. So if you want to know my thoughts on this gorgeous palette, keep on reading!

The Tartelette In Bloom eyeshadow palette is the sister of the original Tartelette palette, which has 12 matte shades in it. The Tartelette In Bloom is definitely more warm-toned than the original one and it comes with 3 shimmery shades instead of all matte shades.

The Tartelette in Bloom palette comes in gorgeous golden packaging with a floral print on the cover. The cardboard box that it comes in has the exact same design. It looks very Spring and Summer appropriate and it comes with a huge mirror inside.

The palette fits right into your hand, it’s sturdy, comes with a mirror and is very slim which makes it the perfect palette to travel with! I could create multiple eyeshadow looks just using this small palette so I would definitely take it with me on my next vacation!

There are 12 shades that comes in this palette. 9 matte shadows and 3 shimmery shadows. They’re mostly warm tones and I think it’s the perfect everyday palette. I also really like how they wrote the names of each shadow underneath instead of putting them on plastic, which they used to do.

Charmer: a neutral beige with a matte finish.
❤ Jetsetter: a medium-dark warm brown with a matte finish.
❤ Rocker: a medium taupe-brown with warm undertones and a frosted sheen.
❤ Smokeshow: a deep brown, almost black with a cool undertone and matte finish.

❤ Flower Child: a light warm peach with a matte finish.
❤ Smarty Pants: a medium warm brown with orange undertones and a matte finish.
❤ Firecracker: a medium to dark warm bronzy brown with a copper/golden frost.
❤ Activist: a cool toned dark brown with a matte finish.

❤ Funny Girl: a light gold with warm and orange undertones and frosted sheen.
❤ Sweetheart: a muted warm peachy pink with a matte finish.
❤ Rebel: a medium to dark reddish brown with warm undertones and a matte finish.
❤ Leader: a dark reddish brown with warm undertones and a matte finish.

It’s so hard to pick my favorite shadows since I adore pretty much all of them! My favorite shades are definitely Jetsetter, Smarty Pants and Sweetheart to put into the crease. Firecracker is my favorite shimmery shade from the palette and I adore Charmer as a matte highlight. The quality of the shadows really impressed me, especially the matte ones are amazing! Funny Girl was the only shadow that didn’t really impress me. It was a bit dry and chalky and just not as pigmented as I would’ve liked it to be.

The matte eyeshadows apply so effortlessly, but also the shimmery shades are really easy to work with (except for Funny Girl). The texture of these shadows is just so smooth and velvety. They blend very easily, stay in place all day and there’s minimal to no fall-out. I do always use an eyeshadow primer so keep that in mind!

I think the Tartelette In Bloom palette comes with the perfect warm toned neutral shades, which is just what I like. If you prefer some color in your eye-looks or you’re more of a cool-toned lover, this might not be the palette for you. But as a warm neutral lover, this palette just speaks to me.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when you smell the shadow up close, they definitely have a cocoa scent to them. Just like the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palettes, but more subtle.

Besides the fact that the packaging is beautiful and the shadows are amazing, what’s even better is the fact that the shadows are formulated without:

Parabens // Mineral Oil // Phthalates // Triclosan // Sodium Laurel Sulfate // Gluten

Now I won’t pretend and say that I know what all of these ingredients really are or what they do to the skin, but I just know they’re bad for you haha! Oh and it’s also dermatologist tested!

The palette also comes with some makeup looks to help you get started or to get you inspired.

QVC UK, which is where I purchased my palette was having a deal on the palette which meant that you got a free dual-ended eyeshadow brush with it! Since I love the brush that came with my Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse, I had really high hopes for this one and was super excited to get it for free.

The Rule Blender comes with a fluffy crease brush on one side and flatter denser eyeshadow brush on the other side.

The flatter side of the brush is amazing! It’s a multi purpose brush since you can use the tip to really get into your crease and build up the color. But you could also use it on the flat side to pack on color to the lid. It’s soft and dense at the same time so it’s perfect for that!

The other side has an amazing crease brush that is super soft and fluffy and distributes shadow into the crease beautifully.

I won’t get into too many details of this eye look, but if you want to know how to recreate this, you can watch my tutorial! I went in with Charmer first, to set the eyeshadow base and highlight my brow-bone. I used Smarty Pants as a transition shade, Jetsetter to darken it up a little bit. Then I used Activist to create a halo eye effect with Firecracker as a pop of shimmer in the center. On my lips I was wearing Bow ‘n Arrow by Kat Von D.

Overall, I can’t say a lot of negative things about this palette, I just love it. The colors are neutral, but you could easily create a dark smokey eye with it. Funny Girl was the only shadow that disappointed me a little bit, but all the other shadows are so amazing and the quality is just perfect. If you’re into neutral warm tones, this is the palette to grab!

The Tartelette in Bloom palette is available on QVC UK online here for £32 (I paid about €47 in total including shipping costs). You can also purchase this palette on sephora.com, but I would definitely recommend QVC UK if you live in Europe since you don’t have to pay additional custom duties. I think that €47 for a dual-ended brush and 12 amazing eyeshadows is a really good deal, especially considering the quality you get for this!
