Recently I’ve been on a hunt to find the perfect foundation for my skin-type. I’ve been trying out a bunch of new ones and bought a few whilst I was in the US. I came across this rather new one by Maybelline when I was shopping at Walgreens, which is the matte and poreless version of their Fit Me foundation. Maybelline used to have to original Fit Me foundation but discontinued it and replaced it with the matte + poreless and the dewy + smooth Fit Me foundation. I decided to try out the matte and poreless version since I heard a lot of people rave about this foundation and it is formulated for normal to oily skin, which is exactly my skin-type.
Starting off with the packaging, it’s exactly the same as their original Fit Me foundation, only with blue details. This foundation comes in a glass container and has a twist off cap. I think the packaging looks good and I really like glass containers since they remind me of more high-end products. However, there is one thing I absolutely hate about the packaging of this foundation, it has no pump! Uhhh I really don’t understand why brands do this?? I always get too much product out of the container and end up having to throw away half of it which is such a waist. But luckily, that’s about the only thing I don’t like about the packaging.
The Maybelline Matte + Poreless Fit Me foundation is available in 16 different shades, which is a really nice and wide range of shades, especially for a drugstore foundation!
I’m in the shade 128 Warm Nude which has a warm and yellow undertone, as the name suggests. I like my foundations to have a yellow undertone since my skin has a warm undertone. This shade is a perfect match for my skin-tone, which I’m super happy about since I’m not the best at picking out foundation shades. They also have a few options for people with cool undertones.
The consistency of this foundation is very liquid and runny. The formula is very lightweight and oil-free, which is something I really appreciate in a foundation since I have combination skin. I love to apply this foundation with a damp beauty sponge, or with a flat buffing brush. This foundation is super blendable and I would say it has medium coverage. It is definitely buildeable but I prefer to apply one thin layer. As far as pore minimizing, I definitely noticed my pores were less noticeable, but you could still see some if you looked closely. At first, it does have a semi-matte finish but there’s definitely some shine peeking through throughout the day, which is absolutely fine by me. This foundation does have a really nice staying power, it stays on my face the entire day and has a beautiful finish.
As you can see in these swatches, the consistency is very lightweight and liquid.
Don’t mind these pictures, I was super tired when I took them but nonetheless you can really see how this foundation looks on my skin. The first pictures is without any makeup, in the second one I only applied the foundation and in the last one you can see my full face of makeup.
This foundation is definitely one of favorites at the moment! It stays on my face throughout the day, has a beautiful semi-matte finish and minimizes my pores. The Matte + Poreless Fit me foundation isn’t available yet here in Belgium or the Netherlands, but I really hope they release it here soon! I purchased mine at Walgreens for $7,29 (30 ml), which is such a steal!
Ik denk dat deze heel goed bij mijn huid past!
De foundation ziet er echt goed uit, maar wat voor een lompe gat is dat joh….hoe kan je ever doseren :/
