I am loving all of the new Spring collections that are coming out right about now. Spring can’t be here soon enough and brands such as Catrice get me super excited for Spring and Summer to come. Catrice came out with their Spring collection about a week ago and it’s the ‘Nude Purism’ limited edition collection. The big theme this year is softness, elegance and especially freshness. So of course, this collection has lots of nude shades in it with a few subtle lip colors, a gorgeous highlighter, eyeshadow palettes and nail polishes. I got my hands on a few of those things and today I’m telling you all about how I feel about them 🙂
The first thing I grabbed was this Gentle Lip Colour in the shade Silky Rose. At first when I swatched it in store I really loved the subtle pink shade with a shiny finish, that’s the reason I purchased this. But once I got home and applied it onto my lips I was quite disappointed. The color didn’t show up on my lips at all! It did add a subtle shininess to my lips, but the color wasn’t noticeable, which was such a bummer. This reminds me more of a lip balm then a ‘gentle lip colour’, which is why I wouldn’t really recommend this.
And now the star of the show: the Pure Shimmer Highlighter. I have to admit it, finding a gorgeous highlighter at the drugstore can be tricky. But this one by Catrice is absolutely gorgeous! It has a beautiful design and the texture is very soft and not too powdery at all. It adds the prettiest pearly dewiness to your face and it actually stayed on for almost an entire day. It’s not super ‘in your face’ noticeable, but it’s more of a subtle highlight that can definitely be built up to a more intense effect.
There are 4 nail polishes in this collection, again all very neutral and nude. I was so drawn to this pinkish white nail polish since I love my pastel polishes so much. It’s called Barely Pink and it’s basically a white nail polish with a pink undertone. I loved the quality of this polish so much!! The brush was rather large and easy to work with and after 2 coats it already looked fully opaque. It also stayed on my nails for almost a week, which is insane! I actually think that Barely Pink is a great dupe for Essie’s Fiji, which is one of my all-time favorite nail polishes ever.
