New Catrice ‘Cherry Blossom Avenue’ Soft Blossom Nail Lacquer | Review

I remember a few years ago Revlon released a line of scented nail polishes, which I was absolutely obsessed with. But since Revlon isn’t cruelty free, I don’t tend to use those polishes any longer even though I really loved the shades and how they smelled. Luckily, Catrice added an entire range of new nail polishes to their permanent line called Soft Blossom Nail Lacquers, which have a floral scent! They’re supposed to have an intense color pay-off and a satin-matte finish, which I’m all about.

Brand’s description:

Bunch Of Flowers. Radiant colours inspired by flowers, enriched with intensive colour pigments. The longlasting texture with rose, camellia and hibiscus oil leaves behind a satin-matt finish reminiscent of velvety blossoms. Once dry, these polishes develop a unique flower fragrance that turns them into the must-have for spring and summer.

The Soft Blossom Nail Lacquers are available in 6 different shades:
❤ Tulips R Better Than One
❤ Sugar Plum Orchiday
❤ Flower Berrybouquet
❤ Coachella Vibes
❤ Pink Rolls-Roses
❤ Cherry Blossom Avenue

The packaging of the Soft Blossom nail lacquer is super cute and reminds me of a perfume bottle in a way. I think it’s the front sticker that has that vintage perfume bottle vibe that makes this bottle so adorable.

Cherry Blossom Avenue is a beautiful (somewhat muted) bubblegum pink shade that’s perfect for the Spring & Summer time! Once this nail polish dries down on the nails, it has a glossy finish, which is unlike Catrice’s claims. This lacquer has everything but a satin-matte finish which is kind of a bummer.

The applicator is very basic and not the easiest in use since it’s not tapered at the end. It did apply the nail polish without any streaks and this shade only needed two coats to look fully opaque.

When it comes to the floral scent, you definitely have to wait for this nail polish to completely dry on your nails before you can notice the scent. Luckily this polish dried down relatively quick. Once it’s all dry, your nails have a subtle hint of floral scent that’s only noticeable if you go and smell your nails up close. In my experience, the scent isn’t too overpowering and it actually smells very nice and fresh. The scent does go away after the first day of application.

The lasting-power of this nail polish is surprisingly amazing! I’ve been wearing it for 4 days in a row now and there’s still not a hint of chipping.

Ingredients:

BUTYL ACETATE, ETHYL ACETATE, NITROCELLULOSE, ADIPIC ACID/NEOPENTYL GLYCOL/TRIMELLITIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMER, ACETYL TRIBUTYL CITRATE, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), POLYPROPYLENE, ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, STEARALKONIUM BENTONITE, ROSA RUBIGINOSA SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, SILICA, STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, N-BUTYL ALCOHOL, DIACETONE ALCOHOL, TRIMETHYLPENTANEDIYL DIBENZOATE, CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL, HIBISCUS SABDARIFFA SEED OIL, POLYVINYL BUTYRAL, BENZOPHENONE-1, PHOSPHORIC ACID, CI 12085 (RED 36), CI 15850 (RED 7 LAKE), CI 19140 (YELLOW 5 LAKE), CI 73360 (RED 30), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE)

This nail polish is yet another item I’m super happy Catrice added to their permanent range! The shade, the quality and especially the scent is to die for. I do wish the finish was more matte, but I don’t really mind it that much. Maybe next time I should use it without a top coat and see if that changes anything. It’s just something to keep in mind if you were going to buy this polish because of its finish.

The new Catrice Soft Blossom Nail Lacquers are now available in stores and online for €2,99 (11 ml).
