Colourpop has become my favorite brand when it comes to lip products. Their Ultra Matte Lips, Ultra Satin Lips, Lippie Stix,… I love it all! A few months ago, they also added a line of brow products to their range and I was so eager to try these out. They’re super affordable and I couldn’t imagine these brow products being absolutely horrible. I ordered the Brow Colour and Brow Pencil a while ago and have been putting these babies to the test so today I can give you my full thoughts!
Both the brow colour and brow pencil come in 8 different shades, which is definitely a nice shade selection:
❤ Blondie
❤ Honey Blonde
❤ Dope Taupe
❤ Arched Auburn
❤ Red Head
❤ Bangin’ Brunette
❤ Black ‘N Brown
❤ Jet Set Black
I purchased the shade Dope Taupe, which is a soft taupe. This was the most universal shade and since my brows are a little bit on the cooler side this shade is perfect for me.
Brow Colour
The Brow Colour comes in a small glass jar with a white screw on lid. This packaging reminds me of their crème gel liners, I actually think it’s the exact same packaging. This little pot feels quite heavy and sturdy and I really like this packaging. It’s nice and small and compact! There’s also a little sticker on the back which indicates the shade name.
The first time I tried to open this jar I had to ask someone to help me because it was closed way too tight and I couldn’t get it open for the life of me! So definitely keep someone strong near you when you open it up for the first time.
Claims:
A Crème Gel formula that gives precise application. It glides on smoothly and adheres to the skin to give 10+ hours of wear.
The formula of the brow colour is super creamy and smooth and it glides onto my eyebrows effortlessly. I always use a little angled liner brush when I use this product, which is not included but definitely necessary. The consistency is a little bit waxy, but somehow it’s super long-lasting. No matter how long my day has been, my brows are still looking on fleek by the end of the day.
Ingredients:
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, ISODODECANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, POLYETHYLENE, CERESIN, SILICA, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE [+/- IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), MICA (CI 77019), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891)]
Brow Pencil
The Brow Pencil has a typical packaging with the pencil on one side and the spoolie brush on the other. Compared to other brow pencils, this one is rather thin and long, although it doesn’t contain a lot of product. The pencil is retractible, which means you twist the little grooves and the pencil comes out. But be aware: once you’ve retracted some of the pencil, you can’t un-retract it. At first I didn’t know this. I retracted way too much and had to waste some of the product.
Claims:
A super precise, self-sharpening mechanical brow pencil. This long wearing formula applies comfortably without any pulling or dragging. It’s micro size tip creates natural hair like application for multiple brow looks.
Same as with the brow colour, the brow pencil has just the right amount of color pay-off. The formula is smooth and waxy but not too much. The pencil is precise and easy to use. It doesn’t tug or drag the brows or skin but applies just the right amount of pigment without having to apply it with too much pressure. When it comes to lasting power, the pencil stays on my brows beautifully throughout the day, but I don’t feel it’s as long-lasting as the brow colour.
I like how the tip is rather small, this makes it easy draw on those really fine hair-like lines.
The spoolie that comes with the pencil is small, but it gets the job done perfectly!
Ingredients:
ETHYLHEXYL STEARATE, POLYETHYLENE, ISOEICOSANE, SILICA, SYNTHETIC BEESWAX, TOCOPHEROL [+/- IRON OXIDES (CI 77491), IRON OXIDES (CI 77492), IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891)]
I personally reach for the brow colour more than the brow pencil, but I think both brow products are absolutely amazing. Dope Taupe is a perfect match for my brows and I love how my brows look whenever I use one of these two. They’re also really long-lasting and if you apply them correctly, these products look very ‘natural’ on the brows.
The Colourpop Brow Colour is available on Colourpop’s official website here for $6 (3 g) and the Brow Pencil is available here for $5 (0.09 g). I think the pencil doesn’t contain a lot of product, but at the same time you only pay $5 which is super affordable!
