Essence Lights Of Orient ‘Princess Jasmines Choice’ Blush

It has been a hot minute since a limited edition item by Essence has caught my attention. Lately, whenever I pass by their stand I never see anything I like and I’ve just been skipping most of their trend editions. But when I came across their newest Lights of Orient collection, I was immediately drawn to the blush and bronzer in this collection. I like the overall influence of Arabian culture on this collection and the mysteriousness and magic of it all. The display looked beautiful and I really wanted to purchase the blush and bronzer, but unfortunately the bronzer had already been swatched so I decided to pick up one item and went for the blush.

The blush from the Lights of Orient collection comes in a clear square compact. The name of the collection is written on the front, whilst the back contains a sticker with additional information. I like how the pan is pretty large and the compact is very thin and lightweight, yet it feels very sturdy and durable.

The blush pan has a beautiful Arabian pattern, with a lighter blush in the middle and darker one around it.

The blush from this collection is called ‘Princess Jasmines Choice’ and is a two-toned powder blush. It comes with a lighter rosy pink and darker mauve. You can either wear one, mix them both together or create your custom shade.

Princess Jamsine’s Choice mixed together creates a beautiful dusty pinky mauve. It’s definitely more on the darker side and the pigmentation very decent. The finish of this blush is a not completely matte, yet it doesn’t contain any chunks of glitter. I would say it has a satin finish that makes your skin look radiant and healthy.

The texture and formula is finely milled and it doesn’t feel overly powdery but very smooth and soft. I would recommend using a light hand with it and applying just a small amount. It blends out easily and has a lasting power of about 7 hours on my cheekbones.

Personally, I like swirling my brush into the whole pan, mixing both shades together. If you’re more on the lighter/fair side, you could apply a little bit more of the lightest middle shade and add some darker mauve depending on your skin-tone. But if you’re more on the darker side, I think this blush is absolutely perfect!

This blush has such a unique shade and I think it looks amazing on my skin-tone. The pattern is beautiful, the pigmentation is spot on and the packaging is really pretty. Definitely approved and I would totally recommend it if you have a similar skin-tone or even darker skin-tone than mine!
