If you would ask me what my favorite lip scrub of all time would be, I would say the E.l.f. lip exfoliator. I have used their OG exfoliator for years now and have used and abused it so much. Recently they came out with two new flavors of the lip exfoliator: Mint Maniac and Sweet Cherry. I got sent the Sweet Cherry scent, which I’ll be dedicating this post to today!
The original lip exfoliator came in a sturdy metal packaging, whereas these new ones come in a plastic packaging that’s not as sturdy as the original one. The newer ones do have a flavor indication on the bottom, which is quite handy if you have more than two.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Sweet Cherry doesn’t have a strong scent, but just has a subtle cherry scent and flavor that’s not too overwhelming. Although the lip scrub looks like it has a light baby pink color, it comes off clear on my lips.
The formula of the lip exfoliators is infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils to nourish the lips. The scrub in the Sweet Cherry flavor is less harsh and intense than the original one and I would say it feels more like a sugar scrub instead of that really gritty and raw texture. They definitely changed the formula.
If you haven’t tried any of the E.l.f. lip exfoliators I would definitely recommend getting the original clear version, it’s amazing!! But if you have tried that one and you’re looking to branch out and try something new, I would say get this one. I just prefer the clear formula a little bit better since I prefer a more harsh scrub on my lips and this one is a little bit softer.
The new Sweet Cherry Lip Exfoliator by E.l.f. is now available on their website here for €4 (3.2 g). I could be wrong, but I feel like the original lip exfoliator came with more product. However, 3.2 g is still a really great amount, especially for the price!
