Pür Afterglow Illuminating Powder

You guys! I have found a new brand that I’m so in love with!! It’s the brand Pür, which is available on beautybay.com and I can’t get enough. After trying out two of their Eye Polishes (which are liquid eyeshadows) I was completely sold. I adored the quality of these shadows and I’ll definitely post about them soon. After being blown away by those, I decided to give their Illuminating Powder a go, which I heard really amazing things about. So if you want to know my thoughts on the Afterglow highlight by Pür, keep on reading!

The Afterglow highlight comes in really simplistic packaging. It’s made out of a sturdy silver material and has a see-through lid with the logo written on it. On the back it has some extra information and it comes in a cardboard box that looks way more interesting than the actual packaging does. But hey, the simpler the packaging, the more effort they put into the actual product (at least I hope!).

About this product:

Packed with age-defying Ceretin Complex® and shea butter, this lightweight illuminating powder gives your look a luminous glow that diffuses the look of lines, wrinkles and imperfections. Afterglow is the perfect way to perk up your complexion for a more evenly brilliant finish day or night. Paraben-free.

Afterglow is a champagne beige with a shimmery pearl finish. It’s a pressed powder that gets picked up by a brush very easily and packs on a lot of powder. Afterglow looks really natural on the skin but can also be build up to look very intense. It adds such a pretty glow that it almost looks like you’re glowing from within.

The weird thing about this highlighter is that swatching it doesn’t do it any justice whatsoever. This powder looks so much more intense on the cheekbones than it does swatched.

I would say this shade looks a lot like the Mary-Loumanizer by theBalm and a mixture of Moonstone and Opal by Becca. It’s a very universally flattering shade as well. I think it would look amazing on fair as well as darker skin-tones.

The texture of this highlight is very soft but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s as smooth and soft as Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors. Those are still the softest highlighters I own, but this one comes really close! However, I can definitely say that Afterglow has become one of my favorite highlighters and it’s definitely up there with Becca.

I’m not an expert when it comes down to ingredients but as far as I know there aren’t any bad ingredients in this product. Also good to know is that Pür is a cruelty-free brand.

As you can see, Afterglow adds such a pretty glow to my cheekbones and it’s really intense and beautiful.

Honestly, I can’t recommend this highlight enough. You can build it up to look really intense or apply just a small amount and it adds such a nice glow to the cheekbones! It doesn’t accentuate pores or imperfections as much as other highlighters tend to do and I just think it’s just amazing.

The Pür Afterglow Illuminating Powder is available on beautybay.com here for €26 (8g). I know it’s on the pricey side but I really do think it’s one of those products worth investing in!
