E.l.f. Skincare

As I have mentioned in a previous post about 2-3 weeks ago, I was sent the entire new skincare line from E.l.f. to try it out and I was so excited. I have been putting all 4 products to the test and today, I’m finally able to give you my personal opinion on these skincare products.

The skincare line consists of a soothing serum, a daily hydration moisturizer, an illuminating eye cream and a nourishing night cream. All of these products are packaged in beautiful pastel blue colored packaging that looks very fancy and chic.

Before I start off this review, I do want to mention that I have normal to combination skin.

The first product is the Daily Hydration Moisturizer. This product comes in a big tube with a pump and clear cap. I love this packaging since it’s way more hygienic and easy to work with. I use about 1-2 pumps of this product, depending on how dry my skin is.

The consistency of this moisturizer is very lightweight and it feels very water and gel like. My skin absorbs this product quite fast and it adds the perfect amount of hydration for my skin-type. My skin looks more healthy and awake after using this, which is just what I like. It doesn’t feel heavy or anything like that and soothes my skin. The only thing I don’ really like about this moisturizer is that one of these ingredients is parfum, so it does have a scent to it and I prefer moisturizers without.

The Soothing Serum is one of my favorite products from this whole line. Usually, I’m a bit skeptical about serums since I’m afraid that they’ll make my skin even more oily. But this one doesn’t. Again, this one comes with a pump which is way more hygienic. I use 1 pump in the morning and in the evening, before applying my moisturizer or night cream.

This serum is honestly one of the best ones I have ever tried, especially for my skin-type. It doesn’t veel greasy or oily or silicone-like at all. It’s again, very lightweight and it feels like a gel when I apply it on my face. It sinks right into my skin and makes my skin more radiant and fresh.

❤ Soothing Serum €14 (30ml) available here

The Illuminating Eye Cream is my second favorite product from this line. It comes in a rather big jar and I wish they had packaged this the same way as the previous products since a jar can collect lots of bacteria and I prefer pumps. Nonetheless, that won’t stop me from using this amazing product.

This eye cream is, again, super lightweight and feels so refreshing underneath my eyes. It’s a very thin consistency and it feels as if I’m applying straight up water under my eyes. This makes my puffiness go down a bit in the morning and makes my under-eyes look more fresh and glowing.

❤ Illuminating Eye Cream €12 (14g) available here

The Nourishing Night Cream has the same packaging as the eye cream, except that it comes in a bigger jar. I love that both jar-products come with an extra plastic lid, because that can help keep out more bacteria.

The formula of the night cream is thicker than the daily moisturizer. It still has that gel-like feel to it, just a bit thicker and more moisturizing. This night cream also sinks into my skin, it just takes a bit longer, which is actually great since my skin still feels moisturized when I wake up. I think this product does such a nice job at keeping my face moisturized throughout the night.

❤ Nourishing Night Cream €14 (50g) available here

Overall, I was pretty surprised with all of the products from the skincare line. They work really well on my skin, but I do have to say that I’m not sure this skincare line is suited for people with super dry skin. All of the products are very lightweight and I think that people with dry skin might need a thicker and more moisturizing formula and consistency. But luckily for me, these products are a perfect match for my skin. They didn’t break me out or make my skin sensitive (and I have really sensitive skin), which is really good! All of the products are formulated without Parabens, Sulfates or Phthalates. I don’t really know a lot about ingredients, but I do know that those aren’t especially good for your skin, so it’s amazing that these products don’t contain any of those. I do wish that they had some sort of SPF in them.

All of these products are available online and they retail between €10 to €14, which is really affordable! It is a bit more expensive than their makeup, but that’s normal since it’s skincare and that’s almost always more expensive.
