Wauw, I just can’t believe we’re already in September! August flew by so quickly, it’s insane. I remember celebrating Christmas and New Year’s Eve like it was yesterday and now we’re already in September, crazyyy!! I have been trying out a lot of new products this passed month, so I have quite some favorites to share with you guys! I have loved a lot of lip products, of course, and also a few random bits and pieces. Here are all the items I loved throughout the month of August:
Victoria’s Secret Pink ‘Sunkissed’ Body Mist: I have been so lazy this month when it comes to keeping my body hydrated. Normally I put some lotion on my body after getting out of the shower but this month I didn’t like the stickiness and my body wasn’t that dry. But most of all, I was lazy. That’s when body sprays come in handy! I have been using the ‘Sunkissed’ one by Pink and it smells like coconut and vanilla, very Summer appropriate!
Physicians Formula Super BB Powder in ‘Light/Medium’: This is a product my mom got me as a present from her trip to the US, almost a year ago. I was eager to try this out but when I saw it had shimmer in it, I immediately put it away in my drawer and didn’t touch it for months. I’m very oily around my T-zone and that’s why the fact that it had shimmer in it scared me. But lately, I’ve been enjoying a more dewy look rather than a matte one. That’s when I decided to give this one another try and I actually love it. I use it as a sort of setting powder over my foundation/bb cream and it looks very beautiful and natural. The shimmer isn’t really noticeable and it doesn’t make me look more greasy, which is what I was afraid for to begin with.
MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter: I did a review on this highlighter a while ago so I won’t go into detail, but this highlighter was the one I grabbed the most this month. It’s a gorgeous pearly highlighting powder and the best part about it: it’s from the drugstore! So it’s really affordable and budget-friendly. (review)
NYX ‘Brown’ Eyeshadow: I have been looking for a light brown/camel eyeshadow this month, just to apply in my crease. My mom gave this one to me and said I would love it and I did. It’s the perfect transition shade for almost any eye-look. It’s a light matte brown with an orange undertone and I have been using this with almost all my eyeshadow looks this month.
Benefit Gimme Brow in ‘Light/Medium’: This is also a new product I reviewed this month. Ever since I got it, it’s been in my everyday makeup routine as my go-to eyebrow product. I’ll use it on its own on days where I’m too lazy or I’m in a hurry. Other times, I’ll use it to top off any powder or pencil. It adds volume to my brows and keeps them in place throughout the day. (review)
Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Volum’ Mascara: I bought this mascara at the beginning of the month, when there was a sale going on at Kruidvat (buy one, get the second one 50% off). My friend also bought a mascara, which made it cheaper for the both of us. It’s not the best mascara i’ve every tried but I like it. It adds volume and doesn’t clump, which are the most important qualities I look for in a mascara. (review)
Rimmel Keep Calm & Kiss Lip Balm: Ok, you knew this was coming! I am the biggest sucker for any (tinted) lip balm, especially ones with fun packaging. When I saw that Rimmel came out with their own version, I got so excited! They’re super fun and the quality isn’t that bad. I bought two of them and this one ended up in my bag almost the entire month. (review)
Nivea Blueberry Blush Lip Butter: I have been loving these Nivea lip butters for quite some time now, and I owned every single one of them. There are 3 different variaties you can choose from here in our stores but I find this one in Sluis that I’ve never seen before. It smells (and tastes!) like blueberries and it’s amazing. It makes my lips super soft and its been on my desk ever since I got it.
E.l.f. Lip Exfoliator: I have been exfoliating my lips a lot this passed month. Normally, I swear by the Lush lip scrubs, but I busted out my E.l.f. one and I’ve been loving it even more! The biggest difference is that Lush’s lip scrub comes in a little jar and you have to scoop put the product. The E.l.f. lip exfoliator comes in a simple lipstick form and you apply it directly onto the lips. This stuff works amazingly and gets rid off all your dead skin. (review)
Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother in ‘Cake Pop’: Lip liners have become my newest obsession this month. But sometimes they can be very drying and they can feel super uncomfortable on the lips. That’s why I like to top them off with some sort of lip balm or lip gloss. The new beautifying lip smoothers by Catrice are the best products ever to apply over a lip pencil! Since they’re glossy, but they have the benefits of a regular lip balm, these are just perfect. They add a subtle hint of color on the lips as well. (review)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Nail Color in ‘Slick Slate’: Again, I have been lazy this month. Especially when it comes to painting my nails. I didn’t take my time to properly paint them and I have been walking around with chipped nails this month, shame on me! These Insta-Dry nail polishes by Sally Hansen are the best nail polishes for lazy girls. You only need about one coat and they dry within minutes. You can literally apply these just before heading out the door and you would be just fine.
Tangle Teezer: This is a new product that I’ve been using about 2 months now. At first I was a bit scared to try it, since I do have pretty big nots after washing my hair and I do loose quite a few of them. But oh my god, where has this been all my life??? This is such a genius product, I can’t believe I didn’t get my hands on it sooner. This thing is so amazing for brushing my hair after washing it, it gets rid of all my nots so easily, and I loose lesser hair with this thing. Absolutely love this!
Q&A Journal: Last but not least, I have a lifestyle favorite. It’s the Q&A 5 year journal that I’m sure most of you have heard of by now. Since I’m not the person who’ll keep a journal, this is perfect for me. Everyday you have to answer a question, 5 years in a row. That way you can see how you’ve evolved as a person throughout the years. I simply love the idea of this!
