Happy Monday loves! In today’s post I’ll be reviewing the newest Catrice Prime & Fine Nude Glow Primer, which they recently added to their permanent line. As you saw in my Catrice haul, I picked up a bunch of their new Spring & Summer 2017 products, which I’m slowly getting around to reviewing. I’ve already reviewed their newest mascara, nail lacquer, eyeshadow palette & blush and overall I was pleasantly surprised with most of those items! So if you’re interested in knowing my thoughts on their newest face primer, simply keep in reading!
The Nude Glow Primer comes in a luminous off-white squeeze tube with black details, which I absolutely adore. This packaging is hygienic, easy to use and it actually looks quite luxurious as well. The applicator makes it easy to control the amount of product you want to squeeze out of the tube and it’s mess-free. This tube is also rather compact and perfect to travel with, even though it houses a nice amount of product (30 ml). Catrice claims this primer can be worn on its own or underneath foundation.
Brand’s description:
Natural Luminosity. The Prime And Fine Nude Glow Primer has a subtly tinted texture with pomegranate oil and creates a flawless complexion. Fine, light-reflecting pigments ensure a soft finish and make small skin irregularities disappear. Can either be worn as an illuminating base underneath foundation or on its own for a natural glow.
The formula of the Nude Glow Primer sinks into the skin really easily since it’s not too thick or heavy. The consistency doesn’t feel silicon-based but it feels nice and moisturizing. According to Catrice, this primer should have a tinted texture. It definitely has a slightly pink-toned tint, but I don’t find it to be noticeable once you blend it into the skin. Once this primer is applied to the face, it makes your skin feel extremely soft and smooth and it doesn’t feel tacky or wet. The Nude Glow Primer didn’t make my skin irregularities disappear, but it did provide a more even and fresh base to start off with.
I don’t notice a huge difference when it comes to the wear time of my makeup with this primer underneath, but I did notice my foundation sits beautifully on top of it.
If I would have to compare this primer to my favorite Beautifying Primer (also by Catrice), I definitely think they’re very similar. The Nude Glow primer is more moisturizing and the Beautifying Primer adds more radiance and glow to the skin.
If you’re very sensitive to scents, you might want to skip this primer since it has a relatively strong ‘makeup’ scent. However, the scent is only noticeable the first couple of seconds before it starts to fade away on the skin. I personally don’t have any issues with the scent, but it might be a little too much for some.
Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER), DIMETHICONE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, ISODODECANE, LAURYL PEG-9 POLYDIMETHYLSILOXYETHYL DIMETHICONE, PUNICA GRANATUM SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, DIMETHICONE/PEG-10/15 CROSSPOLYMER, MICA, SODIUM CHLORIDE, CERA ALBA (BEESWAX), ACRYLATES/DIMETHICONE COPOLYMER, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, BHT, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM CITRATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).
Overall this primer is really nice, but I don’t think it lives up to its claims. The Nude Glow Primer adds a lot of moisture to the skin, but I barely notice the ‘instant luminous finish’. It does add a slight sheen to my face, but their Beautifying Primer does a better job when it comes to making your skin look dewy and luminous.
The new Catrice Prime & Fine Nude Glow Primer is now available at your local Catrice retailer for €4,59 (30 ml). If you live in The Netherlands or Belgium, you can order yours on the official Kruidvat webshop here! I definitely think it’s worth the money, I just still prefer my Beautifying Primer if I have to be honest. So if you own the Beautifying Primer already, I don’t think you absolutely need this primer in your life.
Ik vind dit een hele fijne primer
