Catrice Velvet Matt Eyeshadows in Vanillaty Fair & Moss Wanted Colour

As I mentioned in my previous post, Catrice is coming out with new exciting products and the Velvet Matt shadows were one of those products I was really looking forward to. Now I finally own 2 (well now actually 3, I went and got another one that I’ll also write about) and I’m so glad I have them. After being super pleased with their Beautifying Lip Smoother, these did not let me down either!

The packaging of these matt shadows is simple and chic. I like how the shadow itself is like a little bubble, popping out. The casing closes easily and feels sturdy and strong. There are 6 different shades available, all very wearable and gorgeous.

When I first swatched these I noticed how soft they were. Almost creamy and buttery I would say. Their velvet formula gives these shadows a beautiful finish. Although they’re matte, they’re not boring or plain at all. They have the most amazing velvety and silky texture and their pigmentation is beyond great. I don’t come across highly pigmented matte shades that often, but oh my goood, these are so good! You know those shadows where you’re swatting them and you go like ‘oooh’ and ‘aaah’? These are definitely those kind of shadows!

Vanillaty Fair is a creamy white shade that’s perfect as a highlighting color under the brows and inner-corners of your eyes. It would also work as a base color for any eye look.

Moss Wanted Colour is a taupe-ish green shade. It’s hard to describe this color, since it also tends to go towards blue in some lighting. As you can see on the swatches, it looks more blue then green but in real life it’s a mossy green. It was just hard capturing this color on camera.

In the eye-look I created with these two shades, I used Vanillaty Fair under my eyebrows as a highlighting shade and also in my inner-corners. I used Moss Wanted Colour as an all-over lid color and kept it more subtle in stead of intense. I then used Naked 2 from the UD Naked Basics palette in my crease.

It’s not easy finding matte eyeshadows at the drugstore with good pigmentation and quality but Catrice finally did it! The Velvet Matt eyeshadows are now available at Kruidvat for €3,99 each (3,5g) which is such a fair price!
