Amanda Steele x Colourpop Jiffy Ultra Satin Lip & Chaps Ultra Matte Lip | Review & Swatches

You guys, I have enough lipsticks to last me a lifetime yet I keep on buying more and more! I think it’s safe to say I have a slight lipstick addiction, especially when it comes to liquid lipsticks and ESPECIALLY when it comes to Colourpop. I know I’ve raved about Colourpop more than enough, but I just adore how they’re so affordable and cruelty free. As you guys know, they release new products and collections every other week it seems and it’s hard to keep up, although I try my best! Recently, they launched another collaboration with the Youtuber Amanda Steele. This collection comes with a few Super Shock Shadows, lip products and the most exciting item: Colourpop’s first ever pressed shadow palette. Now, the eyeshadow palette was way too cool-toned for my liking, but I definitely fell in love with the lip products in this collection (duh). So in today’s post I’m reviewing two of the Amanda Steele x Colourpop lippies!

The UML & USL from this collection are housed in beautiful cardboard boxes that have a special design. I adore the silver and purple theme they went for! The packaging of the lipsticks is also different from their regular packaging. The caps have a pretty pattern and on the actual tube it says ‘Amanda Steele x Colourpop’. As always, there’s a little stickers on the bottom indicating the shade names.

Jiffy Ultra Satin Lip

Jiffy is a muted dusty pinky mauve with a satin finish. I immediately gravitated towards this shade since it’s the perfect nude shade for my skin-tone and I wear these kinds of shades on an everyday basis.

As you all know, the Ultra Satin Lip formula is one of my favorites and Jiffy is no exception. It has an amazing and opaque color pay-off and applies evenly without looking patchy or dry. The texture is nice and thin and dries down to a semi-matte, satin finish on the lips. I did notice that it dried more matte than their other USL, it didn’t have as much of a shiny finish but I don’t really mind that.

As with all the Colourpop USL, Jiffy does transfer a little bit but doesn’t feel drying on the lips. The lasting-power was average, it lasted about 5 to 6 hours before it started to fade a little bit on the inner parts of my lips. However, it’s very easy to add some more where needed.

I’m absolutely obsessed with this shade! Jiffy is the perfect everyday nude that would look stunning (but also different) on so many different skin-tones.

The applicator is a traditional dough-footh sponge applicator, which is quite standard with most liquid lipsticks.

Ingredients:

ISODODECANE, DIISOSTEARYL MALATE, C10-18 TRIGLYCERIDES, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX, DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, OCTOCRYLENE, SILICA SILYLATE, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE , POLYETHYLENE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891), YELLOW 6 LAKE (CI 15985).

I’m wearing the Amanda Steele x Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in ‘Jiffy’ on my lips.

Chaps Ultra Matte Lip

Chaps is a deep aubergine purple with a flat matte finish. This shade definitely looks a lot darker on my lips than it does in the tube, but nonetheless it’s a gorgeous purple!

At first I was afraid the formula would be too drying, because with Colourpop’s UML you never really know. Luckily, Chaps has an amazing formula that wears well throughout the day. It doesn’t crumble off or tug at your lips all too much and the consistency is very thin and liquid. It does take a while for Chaps to completely dry down to a matte finish on the lips, but for such a dark shade it applies even and easily with an opaque color pay-off. You only need about one layer for it to look even since it’s quite pigmented as well.

Chaps felt just a little bit drying on the lips, but nothing I couldn’t personally handle. The lasting-power was outstanding, it stayed on my lips for about 6 hours before it started to come off on the insides just a little bit. I also had to do a little touch-up after eating.

Normally I wouldn’t gravitate towards this kind of vampy lip color but I just wanted to branch out and step out of my comfort zone for once. And let me tell you, I’m so happy I did! This shade is absolutely stunning and so unique, I’m actually obsessed with it.

Chaps comes with the exact same applicator as Jiffy which is Colourpop’s typical dough-footh sponge applicator.

Ingredients:

ISODODECANE, DIISOPROPYL DIMER DILINOLEATE, NYLON-12, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, SILICA, POLYPROPYLSILSESQUIOXANE, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, BLUE 1 LAKE (CI 42090), IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77499), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), RED 28 LAKE (CI 45410), TITANIUM DIOXIDE (CI 77891).

I’m wearing the Amanda Steele x Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Chaps’ on my lips.

As usual, they both swatch amazingly and the color pay-off and pigmentation is right on point.

The design they did on the actual lipsticks and cardboard box they come in is so so so stunning!!

I’m happy to report that I’m in love with these two lip products! Chaps is such a unique dark purple and the formula is amazing. Jiffy is a lovely nude that would look amazing on a variety of skin-tones and it has that classic Ultra Satin Lip formula that I adore.

The Amanda Steele x Colourpop colab is now available on the official Colourpop website, but keep in mind that the collection is limited edition. Both the Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin Lip retail for $6 (3.2 g) each which is super affordable! Colourpop also offers free international shipping on orders over $30, but I would suggest looking into your country’s customs regulations and order under the custom-free amount! In Belgium, you can order up to €23 without having to pay any additional customs.

Heel mooi!
