Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palettes

As most of you drugstore lovers know by now, Catrice released a bunch of new products about 2 months ago. I managed to get my hands on most of the products when they first came out and have been playing with them for a while now. I’ve posted reviews on most of those products, but there are still a few of those items that I haven’t talked about here on my blog, such as the Blush Artist Shading Palettes. Catrice released 3 new blush palettes, which I have been putting to the test. Today I can finally share my thoughts and opinion on them, as well as some swatches!

The packaging of the new Blush Artist shading palettes is pretty basic and simple. These blushes come in clear small palettes, which makes it easy to see the pans of the blushes. The pans are decently sized, especially for such a compact and travel-friendly palette. There is a stickers on the back of each palette, indicating the shade name as well as some additional information.

Each palette comes with 2 blush shades (one matte and one shimmer) and a highlight within the same color family. There are 3 different variaties to choose from:

❤ BronzEclat
❤ CorALL I Need
❤ Rock ‘n Rose

Although I love the idea of Catrice coming out with blush palettes, I do wish that there was a bit more variety in the shade selection. CorAll I Need and Rock ‘n Rose look very similar and I wish they would’ve added one that is even more coral, since CorAll I Need is still very pink-toned.

BronzEclat has warm bronze and apricot tones in it. The first blush shade is a warm reddish brown that has a matte finish. This shade could also be used as a bronzer on some skin-tones. The second blush shade is a soft peach with subtle golden shimmer. Lastly, the highlight that comes in this palette  is a beautiful soft champagne shade that adds a pretty glow to the cheekbones.

I’m so glad that Catrice added this palette to the range, since it is perfect for more darker skin-tones, especially the first blush shade and highlight.

CorALL I Need comes with coral and berry tones. The first blush shade in this palette is darker berry pink with golden shimmer. The second one is a lighter pink with subtle coral undertones and a matte finish. The highlight has a peachy undertone and a golden shimmer.

CorALL I Need is a palette that would suite medium skin-tones perfectly, although it is very versatile.
Rock ‘n Rose comes with a lot of rose and pink-tones. The first blush shade is a pink coral with micro golden shimmer that adds a beautiful healthy glow to the skin. The second blush shade is a more vibrant pink, with a matte finish. Lastly, the highlight that comes in this palette has pink undertones and a golden shimmer.
Rock ‘n Rose would be perfect for lighter skin-tones.
Since I don’t like overly pigmented blushes, I didn’t mind the fact that the swatches of these palettes weren’t overwhelming. Overall, the color pay-off was mediocre, but these blushes did apply beautifully onto my cheekbones and the highlighters were quite buildeable.

Although the highlighters are more on the natural side, you can definitely build them up and make them quite intense. The texture of these blushes and highlighters was a little bit dry and powdery, but that wasn’t noticeable on the actual cheekbones. These powders applied beautifully and they were really blendeable.

Another great thing about these palettes is that the blushes were pretty long-lasting. I would say they stayed on my cheekbones for about 7-8 hours, which is really nice since blush tends to fade the fastest on me.

Wearing ‘BronzEclat’ on my cheekbones (both blushes & highlight)

Overall, I do really enjoy these blush palettes. While the pigmentation isn’t the best ever, the shades look very natural and nice on the skin and can be build up to look more intense. These palettes suit a lot of different skin-tones, which is something I really appreciate.

The new(ish) Catrice Blush Artist Shading Palettes are now available in Kruidvat stores and online for €4,59 (10 g). I definitely think these palettes are worth picking up!

I always look at these when I'm at Kruidvat, I agree with what you said about the combination of the shades, it's what holds me back each time from purchasing one. Also, the shimmer from the other 2 shimmery blushes in each palette get into the matt shade, too much fall out for me 🙂 I like your reviews a lot, keep it up!
