Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘So Hollywood’ Illuminator

I have been loving every single product Anastasia Beverly Hills is coming out with recently. Since I’ve been in her salon in Beverly Hills I’m even more obsessed with her brand and I think she does an amazing job at creating high-quality makeup. I’m not only obsessed with her brow wiz, liquid lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes but even her illuminators are some of my favorite products to use. I got my hands on the So Hollywood illuminator, which is an absolute beauty!

The packaging of this highlighter looks super high-end and chic. I don’t know why but it reminds me a lot of the 20s. It’s rather bulky but not heavy and it has a huge mirror inside, which is always nice especially for on the go. The powder itself has a beautiful mosaic pattern, which slowly fades away the more you use it.

The ABH illuminators are available in 4 different shades: Riviera, Peach Nectar, Starlight and So Hollywood which is the most popular one. There’s really a highlight for every skin-tone in this shade range, which I think is awesome and it’s definitely something not all brands take into consideration.

So Hollywood is a true golden highlight. It’s perfect for medium skin-tones and looks amazing with a little tan. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend So Hollywood to people with very fair skin-tones since it might look muddy and too golden on pale skin. If you have pale skin, Starlight might be a great option.

The texture of this highlight is super soft and creamy and the pigmentation is on point. This shade looks absolutely gorgeous on my skin-tone and it adds such an intense highlight to the cheekbones that catches the light perfectly.

If I would compare the texture of the ABH illuminator to the Becca highlighters, I would say Becca is just a little bit more softer and pigmented, but they’re both amazing.

I adore this shade so much, I think it looks very flattering on my skin-tone and it’s super intense. Again, not the best for pale skin-tones, but for medium to tan skin-tones it’s absolutely stunning.

The ABH Illuminators are available on cultbeauty.com here for £28 (9g), but they’re currently out of stock. You can join the mailing list to get notified if and when they’re available again. It is a pricey highlighting powder but I think it’s definitely worth it! Although if you’re planning on splurging on just one highlighter, I would go for the Becca ones, those are still my favorite highlighting powders ever.
