The Christmas Tag

Hi loves! I wanted to do another tag, since I love doing them and I like reading them. This time I wanted to fill one in that’s Christmas related, so I went for the ‘Christmas Tag’.

1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?

I would have to say The Santa Clause. We always watch the first and second movie this time of year. It’s just the most cozy Christmas movie ever in my opinion.

2. Have you ever had a white Christmas?

As far as I can remember, no. Maybe when I was little, but I don’t actually recall having a white Christmas. Although I would love that!

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At home with my family. Since my parents are separated, I spend Christmas Eve with my mom and on Christmas I go to my dad.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

This is a hard one! It may sound cheesy but I’m hesitating between ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham! or Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. I know, how cliché of me!

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Yes, since I spend Christmas Eve with my mom (and family), we open presents on Christmas Eve. And on the next day, I get to open (and give) presents at my dad’s.

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

This is really embarrassing since I love Christmas, but the only one I can name is Rudolph.

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Just being cozy with family and friends, drinking hot chocolate,… I also want to go to iceskating really bad!

8. Is your Christmas tree really or fake?

It’s a fake one, but I actually think it looks beautiful! It doesn’t look like a fake Christmas tree at all in my opinion!

9. What is your all-time favorite food/sweet treat?

My grandfather always used to make ‘Coquilles St Jacques’, and I absolutely loved it! It was my favorite food ever and I always looked forward to him making it on Christmas Eve.

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts of receiving gifts better?

Hmm this is tricky! I think I like both equally. Of course, receiving gifts is really fun, but I love the feeling I get when someone opens up their present and they’re really happy and grateful. So I can’t really decide between both…

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

This is a hard one! I think it was an iPod Touch, many years ago. I wasn’t expecting it all, and was so happy when I got it!

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

New York of Philadelphia! I would love to walk around Central Park in the snow, all bundled up with a hot drink. But I also really want to go to Philadelphia one day!

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I think I’m actually pretty good at wrapping presents, although my mom does it way better! That’s why I let her do all the wrapping 🙂

14. Most memorable holiday moment?

When I think of Christmas, I think of my grandpa. He used to make Christmas so special for me, and since he passed away it has never been the same without him. I have so many amazing memories of him on Christmas Eve that I’ll cherish forever 🙂

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

Here in Belgium we don’t really believe in Santa. We do believe in Saint Nicholas, who brings presents to all the nice children on December 6th. I remember being quite young and someone telling me that he didn’t really exist. I went home, and thanked my parents for all the gifts they bought me throughout the years.

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I rarely make New Years resolutions, simply because I never stick to them. I used to make so many resolutions, but after a while I just gave up because I never actually stuck to them.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

This may sound very cliché, but just being with family is what makes it special. We’re all so busy with our own lives that sometimes we forget to make time for our family. But at the end of the day, family is the most important thing and we should put more effort into being together and celebrating, not just on Christmas.

I can’t wait until Christmas is finally here and we can celebrate with friends and family. Christmas truly is my favorite holiday of the year, I just can’t help it! I tag all of you to fill in this tag. Leave me a comment if you did because I love reading these kinds of posts!
