Topshop ‘Macaroon’ Lipstick & ‘Flush’ Cream Blush

I posted a Topshop wish-list about 2 weeks ago and by now, I own 3 items from that wish-list, yuuy, happy me! I ordered the lipstick and top, along with a few other items online and bought my first MOTO jeans whilst shopping in Amsterdam. I was super happy when my order finally arrived at my doorstep, I immediately wanted to try everything out and post it on my blog. But first, let me just say something really quick. The Topshop service towards their clients is on point. I had some issues with a coupon code and sent them an email. They replied to me super fast, were really friendly and professional and I got my 10% discount on my bank account a few days later. I think little things like these are really important. It gives any company a good reputation and at the end of the day, that can really convince people to buy items from your shop or it can keep them away from your site period. Anyways just wanted to get that of my chest. On with my review!

The first thing I put in my shopping basket was this lipstick called Macaroon. I looked up some swatches of their lipsticks and this was definitely the one that appealed to me the most.
For some reason, I always thought the packaging of their lipsticks were made out of a cardboard-type material. But it’s actually made out of solid metal. I love the design of the lipstick, simple yet original.
Macaroon is a light pink with a coral undertone. The finish is very velvety and shiny. It applies very smooth and the consistency is almost buttery. The color is buildable. You could apply a sheer coat of this to make it look very natural or build up the color to a more intense lip.
Macaroon stayed on my lips for about 4 hours, which is pretty good for a lipstick that’s not matte. I absolutely love how this formula feels on my lips. It feels so comfortable, almost as if I’m wearing nothing at all on my lips. It doesn’t dry my lips out and I just freaking love it! It’s definitely my newest obsession as far as pink lipstick goes.

Their cream blushes come in the same cute packaging, with polka dots all over the front. It comes with a rather large mirror inside, yet the packaging is very compact and ideal for traveling.
Flush is a natural rosy/pink shade. It’s one of those colors that would look lovely on any skin-tone. I used my stippling brush to apply this cream blush but you could also use your fingertips. Flush applied quite nicely and was super easy to blend. And again, the color is buildable.
You can use this one over foundation, or on your bare face. It adds a pretty and dewy pop of color on the cheekbones and stays in place for quite some time. If you set it with some translucent powder, It’ll stay in place the entire day. If you don’t set it, it’ll rub off after about 6 hours I would say. Macaroon and Flush actually look a lot the same, making them THE perfect combo for a pretty natural pinkish makeup look.

I already knew Topshop’s clothing was beautiful, but I wasn’t so sure about their makeup. It’s always tricky when clothing brands start a cosmetics line but I have to say I was truly impressed with both makeup items. I love the packaging, the lipstick is super pretty and comfortable to wear. The blush has an amazing formula and stays on the cheeks pretty nicely throughout the day. Both products are available on Topshop.com and they’re pretty affordable. The lipstick retails for €10 (3,5g) and the blush for €9 (4g).
