Essence Hello Autumn Trend Edition

I’m getting so excited that Fall is just around the corner, you have no idea!! Fall is one of my favorite seasons ever. It means Christmas is approaching, the christmas decorations will start to make their way into the stores and I can finally get all cozy and watch a movie with my favorite tea. It also means I can wear boots again and I can start layering my clothing,… I just love Fall! Another thing I love about this season: all the Fall/Winter makeup collections that are slowly entering our stores. The one Fall collection that I was most excited for was this one by Essence. I got so freaking excited when I first saw the advertisement for the Hello Autumn collection and got even more so when I saw it finally came out in my local Kruidvat. I got almost everything I really wanted from this collection, except for the color adapting blushes, they were already sold out but I’ll keep on looking for those babies!

The first thing that really caught my attention was this green eye pencil. I am one of those neutral loving girls that stays away from any color as much as I can. But when I saw this green eyeliner, I had to give it a try. Still being in my comfort zone, I decided it was about time I branched out a little and this was the perfect first step.

Charlie Seen In Green (love the name!) is a mossy green with micro golden shimmer. This is the most perfect Fall color, exactly what I imagine when I think about Fall/Winter shades.

I love how this eye pencil has a little sponge-type brush on one side, making it super easy to smudge out the eyeliner. I used this eyeliner right under my lower-lash line, staying as close to my waterline as possible. I applied it quite intense and then smudged out the color inwards, using the sponge-type brush. The color of this eyeliner is very buildable, super easy to blend and smudge. The consistency isn’t dry at all, yet this pencil isn’t super creamy. It’s the perfect in-between. It stayed in place throughout the day, staying intense and beautiful.

In the Hello Autumn collection you can find 2 eyeshadow palettes. Both of them are very neutral, one with brownish shades, the other one with more greenish colors. Again, they’re both perfect for Fall so they made a really good choice choosing these kind of shades.

The packaging is very typical Essence. Transparant, compact, yet not too small and very sturdy. The size is about as big as their other eyeshadow palettes from their trend editions, which is just what I like. Both of these palettes come with 6 eyeshadow shades and they retail for €3,89, which is about €0,65 for each shadow.

Walk In The Park comes with 6 brownish/neutral shades. They’re all quite shimmery warm colors. I love how this palette has a beautiful highlighting shadow, as well as a few darker colors that are perfect for in the crease and some all-over shadows.

All of the shadows swatched pretty nicely, the darker ones were definitely the most pigmented. They apply quite nicely, blend easily together and stayed on my eyelids the entire day, without creasing or any fall-out whatsoever. This palette is definitely perfect for all those neutral-lovers out there.

Essence ‘Walk In The Park’ eyeshadow palette €3,89 (6g).

Keep Calm & Go For A Walk comes with 3 neutral brownish shades and 3 green shadows. If you have brows eyes, like me, this is THE PERFECT palette for you. Green compliments brown eyes so beautifully, it’s insane. Of course, this palette will look good on a lot of people, even those with green/blue eyes, but with brown eyes, this will stand-out the most.

Keep Calm & Go For A Walk swatted a little bit better than Walk In The Park. I love how the 3 darker shades, are actually quite dark and that you have 2 highlighting shadows in this palette. Again, same as with the other one, the quality is really nice. The application, blending,… It all worked. This is definitely my favorite palette out of the two!

Essence ‘Keep Calm & Go For A Walk’ eyeshadow palette €3,89 (6g).

I used both ‘Walk In The Park’ & ‘Keep Calm & Go For A Walk’ to create this look.

Last but not least, I picked up this eyebrow set. I thought this was so weird, that their was an eyebrow set in a limited edition collection, but yet it’s very original and great. Eyebrow products are mostly part of permanent collections so I was really pleased to see this. The eyebrow set comes in 2 different shades, a light one and a darker one. I picked up the lightest one, Walk In The Park, since drugstore brow powders can often look too dark on my brows and I have to say it works perfectly.

A Walk In The Park comes with 2 light brownish/taupe shades, a highlighting powder and a little brush. I personally don’t use the brush, but it’s perfect for beginners. I use the darkest shade at the beginning of my eyebrows and slowly switch to the lighter one once I work my way outwards. After that, I top it off with some highlighting powder underneath my brows, on my brow-bone and ta-da, there you have an easy eyebrow look.

The only thing I don’t really like about the darkest powder is that it has a little bit of a red undertone, which is quite noticeable on my eyebrows. Don’t get me wrong, I will continue to use this product, and I’m quite pleased with it, I just wish it didn’t have the reddish undertone.

Essence ‘Walk In The Park’ eyebrow set €2,59 (3,75g).

There isn’t one product I tried from this collection so far that I didn’t like. My favorite item is probably the green eyeliner, simply because I didn’t own anything like it before, but all the products are pretty amazing. Essence Hello Autumn trend edition is now available at Kruidvat until the end of next month. I really like how they actually put some effort towards the packaging, making it unique and very Fall-like. The eyeliner retails for €1,59 (1,08g), the eyeshadow palettes cost €3,89 (6g) each and the eyebrow set is available for €2,59 (3,75g). This limited edition collection is one their best ones in a while, so definitely try to get your hands on some of the items while you still can!
